Stringers Hairdressing opened their first salon on Lincoln High Street in July 1997, with just two stylists and two trainees. We now operate 4 salons, employing 59 members of staff and with our own dedicated Academy based in Lincoln High Street salon.

Our philosophy has always been: Total Client Satisfaction.

To achieve this aim, great emphasis has been based on attaining the utmost standards of client care, hairdressing advice and stylistic expertise. In March 1999, the high standards achieved at Stringers were formally recognised with the presentation of the prestigious ‘Nationally Approved Salon’ title. The first and so far only award bestowed in Lincoln, and one of only three in the whole county. The Nationally Approved Salon Campaign (NASC) is a government backed initiative designed to raise the standards of British hairdressing and to increase customer confidence in the industry. Andrew Collinge, Umberto Giannini and Vidal Sassoon have all leant their support to the campaign. In March 2005, Stringers retained this recognition for the fifth year running, and we are now a full member of the Hair and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA).

The key to this success is due to the high standard of staff that Stringers employs. We recognise these standards are not easily achieved and it takes time, effort and finance to develop the skills of our employees. This was recognised in 2001 with the highly coveted award of Investors in People (IIP). The training and development of our employees has always been a priority. We have been developing our own National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) training for four years. The quality and results of this was recognised in Nov 2001, with the awarding of City & Guilds Approved Training Centre status. In 2004, Stringers formed a partnership with Get Ahead Training to deliver Modern Apprenticeship training to school leavers. Get Ahead Training, a professional and well respected local training provider, are able to provide the link to other salons who require their trainees to be trained to the most modern and highest standards possible.
